Bob Haring Orchestra
Collection 1929-1931
http://archive.org/details/BobHaringOrchestraCollection1929-1931
From 1929 to 1931, Brunswick issued a number of recordings by the Colonial Club Orchestra under Bob Haring's own name. In addition, a handful of recordings were issued under the names of "Copley Plaza Orchestra" and "The Thematics" These issues seems to have been randomly selected from sessions recorded by the Colonial Club Orchestra. For example, the first song from the recording session that took place on February 27, 1929 was issued as "Colonial Club Orchestra" on Brunswick 4245 while the second song was released as by "Bob Haring and His Orchestra" as Brunswick 4273 even though the exact same orchestra were used for both.
Recordings issued as "Regent Club Orchestra" and "Colonial Club Orchestra" will be uploaded as seperate collections. Bob Haring Orchestra recordings were released under the name of "King Solomon and His Miners" on British Brunswick.
N.B. Brunswick recorded dance records in two versions. The version for English speaking markets would contain a vocal chorus while a second version, for non-English speaking markets, would contain only the music with no vocal chorus. I have presented a number of these below. If you have any more and would like to share please contact me at irenedelroy@hotmail.co.uk. Thank you.
